We pride ourselves in the quality of our hammocks. Every single one is handmade, so we can assure you every hammock is made to a high standard.

That's not the best part, though. We believe our business is about more than just making awesome hammocks. We decided from day one that we would give back however we could. That's why we started our 5:1 Initiative. For every 5 hammocks we sell, we'll give one away to a missionary. It may not be much, but it gives us an opportunity to say thank you to those who have dedicated their lives to helping others in need. It's also a wonderful opportunity to spread the word about what these amazing missionaries are doing.

Our hammocks come in one size — big enough for tall folks and still not too big for shorter or average height individuals. (Plus, we're working on something for the kiddos... stay tuned!)

We believe we make the best hammock on the market for several reasons. Here's a few of the biggest things that set ours apart from other hammocks:

  • First of all we use ripstop nylon. Most of the other hammock brands use parachute nylon. While parachute is nice, if you were to get a puncture (very likely while on an adventure) then your entire hammock will rip and be rendered useless. With ripstop nylon, you could stab a knife through your hammock (not recommended, though) while laying in it and nothing would happen. The tight weave prevents any punctures or tears from spreading. Still as light as parachute, but a lot stronger. Ripstop FTW.
  • We use climbing grade hardware. From our carabiners to our straps, we only use the high quality, climbing grade materials. We source our carabiners from Omega Pacific (meaning they are American made) and they are made to withstand over 5,000lbf and our straps are 1" flat polyester webbing, made to withstand over 1,000lbf. Maybe it's overkill, but we believe quality and strength should not be compromised.
  • One stuff sack holds it all and straps are included. We hear it all the time. "How much are the straps?" Followed by, "Oh wow, they're included!?" Yes, straps are most definitely included with every hammock. And guess what? They also fit in the same bag as the hammock itself. No more carrying a bag for the hammock and a bag for straps. Single stuff sack is the way to go.

Those are just a few of the main things that make White Oak Hammocks so awesome. But we think you'll understand it best with a hammock of your own.
